In aid of Clare Haven (www.clarehaven.ie). Clare Haven Services is a voluntary organisation set up to
provide support, information and refuge accommodation to women and children who experience domestic violence/abuse.
Also to fund desperately needed chemotherapy programme in Tanzania's only children's cancer unit run by Irish paediatrician , Dr Patricia Scanlon. This is the singular paediatric cancer unit in Tanzania which has a population of 40 million. It has 20 beds and a consistent bed occupancy rate of 400% i.e 2 patients per bed with each patient being looked after by a parent.
All monies raised will be split 50/50 between the two charities above.

History
Theis a
fundraising event that takes place in the village of Carran in the heart
of the Burren in Co Clare (see map) on the 27th of December in association
with Burren Cycling Club and Kilnaboy
Athletics Club.
This is the 8th year of the event and past charities supported include Goal,
Trocaire, St. John of God Menni services, Alzheimers Society, Concern
and Galway and Clare Hospices.
